Treabat is a small hamlet situated 4 minutes from Sixt-sur-Aff and midway between the famous artists town of La Gacilly (8mins) and Pipriac a typical French town with a large SuperU supermarket.

Further out, but still a relaxing short drive away you will discover many towns of charm and character, including our favourite, Rochefort en Terre,a stunning village with great creperies, craft shops, chateau and lazy strolls along cobbled streets.
French market lovers will find them locally almost daily, the largest of which is in Rennes some 35 minutes north of the cottage.
Brittany beaches (long and sandy) are an hour away and whilst driving in England can be stressful and tiring, driving around southern Brittany is a pleasure on its own absorbing ancient villages and rolling countryside on often deserted roads..
Steeped in history and likened to Cornwall this particular part of Brittany enjoys its own micro climate with higher temperatures and less rainfall than surrounding departments, there is a very noticeable difference between north and south Brittany, where the temperature can be several degrees warmer in the summer months. There is less rain in Morbihan than there is in Provence!
