The heart of the cottage is the living room/kitchen, typically French with beamed ceiling, tiled floor and a large open fireplace (fireguard available if needed).
A Hallway leads to the toilet and separate shower room with wash basin and refreshingly powerful shower. For longer stays there is also a washing machine.
Behind the sofabed a wooden staircase leads to 2 bedrooms and a storeroom(which one day will link the adjoining barn)
In the airy double bedroom, you have a wardrobe, 2 bedside units and a chest of drawers. The double bed has a firm mattress for back sufferers, and shutters give fresh air yet darkness for a long nights sleep. Swallows provide the morning anthems. Our childrens bedroom has 3 single beds in a row and a wardrobe.
Parents with younger children can make use of the fitted stairgate and travel cot.
For everyones benefit, each mattress has a waterproof cover, on top of which is a quilted protector(regularly cleaned) and there are no carpets at all in the house.
In the fully fenced garden why not enjoy a glass of wine while others play petanque or amuse themselves on the swings,slide and ropes.
Cars can if you wish be put behind the lockable gates although we always leave ours on the verge opposite the front door.
Our other garden is a few yards away across the lane and offers a different aspect with long views over the fields.
In the adjoining barn(still intact is the fireplace and pot used to feed hundreds of pigs) is the firewood, along with some games/bikes/scooters (bikes are 2 adult 1 with child seat, a 10 yr olds,5 yr olds and one with stabilizers)
Thoughts of a six year old ”I love riding my bike up and down the lane” and from our 10 year old ”when can we go back to France again?"
Lanes surrounding Treabat provide our young children with the opportunity to enjoy their freedom and we hope you’ll feel as safe and secure as we always do.Our lovely French neighbours have a puzzled smile as we, out of habit studiously lock all the windows and doors as we go out.
A great base for couples the cottage also has some extras a young family will appreciate.
